Default How old was your DS when he first shaved?

DS told me last night he was going to pluck his mustache because it was bothering him. I told him that is was probably a better idea to shave it, so we got him a razor today and he shaved it off. It didn't surprise me, as I had noticed he was getting some peach fuzz that was darker and told DH a few weeks ago he'd be shaving within the year. But it makes me so sad! He's growing up!!! He's only 12.5. I wasn't expecting it quite this soon. How old was your DS when he started shaving?

My 12.5 year has some darker peach fuzz. He’s using his dad’s electric.

DS was around that age too. He is now 14 and still only needs to shave upper lip. No other facial hair yet.

My 13 yo hasn’t started yet. Teen acne has arrived though.

12-13 for my older two. They have dark hair and the peach fuzz on the upper lip was really noticeable. My oldest is 16 and has to fully shave now. I still look at him and expect to see my baby instead of this almost man...

My oldest will be 16 this summer and he doesn’t have even the remotest need to shave yet. He’s blonde, maybe that’s why.

DS was about 12 when I started having conversations about the fact that he was starting to grow a mustache and that if he ever wanted to, I'd get him what he needed to shave. Sometime around 13, I had DH buy an electric razor like his own so DS would have it if he wanted to use it. He finally (thank goodness) started using it *SOME* at 14. I figure it's very much like girls shaving, which seems to have been discussed a lot more here. I'm not going to force the issue, but I'll be there if they choose to do it. (DD1 is 12 now and knows that there's razors and shaving gel in the house if she feels like she wants to use it. But I've told her that she & I are going to have a "sit on the side of the tub wearing shorts" practice session together before she gets free rein.)

13.5 and it happened yesterday! Read on a local mom board about this, so when near Ulta, we grabbed it with a coupon. Seemed to do fine for now. DD has some weird hair patch on her neck so we passed it around the room.
