With a coupon code I only paid $34.

Dh and I both have terry Lands End robes. Ours is super heavy and thick terry. This one looks to be the same. I think mine is closer to 25 years old, and DH’s about 20 years old. I did however not take it to college with me because it is a lot of thick terry and would’ve taken up a whole box or half a suitcase. I had a thinner ankle length cotton robe that I think I got from Victoria’s Secret (when VS still sold plaid pj pants and matching button down shirts in store....this was 1997....), but now I would probably look at Aerie (or the similar...Aerie had none online now but here are some others) for something similar that is substantial enough to wear in a hallway to walk to the showers down the hall (my dorm was a coed and we didn’t have suites; the guys were one one side the hall from us so even during non visiting hours it was possible to see a guy in the hallway on the way back from a shower....although I don’t really recall it being a huge issue).

Maybe something like this that is easy to pack:

I have 2 robes I use frequently and love. One is a heavy cotton terry-cloth robe from the Company Store that I got for college. It’s very similar to this: https://www.thecompanystore.com/comp...obe/67018.html. Those come in a shorter length too (and if you browse all their robes, the down ones look so soft for a drafty winter cabin, don’t they?).

I have a light knit cotton one that I bought for the hospital when I was pregnant. I liked that it has a pattern so spots don’t show. Now I prefer that one in the summer or wear when I’m doing my hair and the bathroom is hot. I got that one at Macy’s with matching jammies that don’t fit anymore. It’s similar to this: https://www.macys.com/shop/product/c...cys?ID=9637632

My ILs buy my kids a new bathrobe for Christmas every few years. They always get the fuzzy polyester ones from Lands end. They hold up well and my kids love to wear them out to the pool in the winter. These are the ones we have: https://www.landsend.com/products/ki...robe/id_338232

I have a knee length fleece one from Target (XL in the girls dept) that I love. So cuddly, soft, great pockets.

Oh and remember that big and fluffy one will take up more space in the washer and drier and college kids already don’t do enough laundry regularly lol.

I have had several of those LE supima cotton robes over the years — they are great, very comfy, easily packable. I can wear them much of the year (unlike my LE fleece robe which is only good for a short time during the occasional cold season). I got the thick terry as something that could have a longer season than the fleece, and it’s been good, but in even somewhat warm areas, the supima one will probably get the most use by far.

ETA: and yes, all 3 of my LE robes have adequate pockets! What’s the point of a robe without pockets?

That's similar to one of DD's, she is obsessed with anything Sherpa! She just bought herself a Nordic Beach wrap with her own money and then found another one on Mercari that she says we can "share", they are so soft!

My UGG robe is amazing. Not sure if a college student would appreciate it's aesthetics, but so warm and soft! Funny enough I got it for Christmas from my mom (who did not know about the SNL skit!)

By the way, thank you for this suggestion. I bought three of these o sale to give to my teenage and early 20ish nieces whose birthdays are in March. The robes arrived yesterday and are really fuzzy and pretty. I hope your daughter likes hers.
