Also, i just wanted to say, I remember you talking about your dad on this board. You were an incredibly helpful resource for me when my mom was diagnosed with Parkinson's a couple years ago.

Oh nicci, I’m so sorry. I remember your posts about your parents as well as your sisters living here in the U.S. You are smart to keep your sister at arm’s length now while you process your own grief. I liked firstbaby’s wording too. It was kind and caring but firm. I know it’s hard to believe now but things will get better for you and your sister. I’m sending you lots of p and pt.

First I’m sorry, it’s a horrible time for this to happen as if there was a good time.
I understand your reasons for not wanting your sister to visit. I think you should offer another time for her. Just explain you feel that in your grief you won’t be helpful, but you understand she doesn’t want to be alone. Suggest just the two of you get to their another time, maybe somewhere else? Use the kids as an excuse, that you will find comfort in a routine and being busy for them. Tell your sister you will need time to absorb before you can really access your grief and go over your memories of your father and that when you are ready this is when you would like to spend time with her.
