DH has the travel itch but I'm not ready for plane travel, hotel stays, or lots of indoor activities yet. I've been looking for ideas for a family summer vacation, probably in June or July, depending on my work schedule. We would most likely rent something from air-bnb, or VRBO, not staying in a hotel. It would be DH and I, two daughters (age 12 and 14), and our dog (who is super attached to me and does not like to be left alone, so I'm hesitant to board her for a full week for her first time away from us). Since the dog would be coming I'm thinking 3-4 hours from Central PA. I was thinking low key beach and outdoor activities, or lake house and hiking, kayaking, etc. But DH is not liking any of my suggestions (his suggestion was finding all of the Civil War battle fields in VA, but the rest of us nixed that!) The girls would like going to a Zoo, we all would like horseback riding. Any great ideas?
