Sorry, saw this just now. Things went very well yesterday, and going well thus far! Other than a sore arm, DD is doing completely fine. She even did her virtual dance class today morning after letting the teacher know that she may have to be a bit sloppy with the left arm. Overall, I’m so glad we went ahead with it rather than wait.

My 14 year old DD got her first dose yesterday at our local farmer's market- saw some of her friends there who also got their first dose. So far so good! A little worried b/c her 2nd dose is scheduled for DH's birthday weekend and we have plans to hang out at a friend's beach house- don't want her to be totally out of commission for it, so may end up postponing/rescheduling even if it's not at as convenient location. DD2 is only 8, so not old enough yet.

Just scheduled DS & DD1 for their first shots this Friday! Can't wait for DD2 to be eligible.

DD3 (15yo) got her 1st vax on Friday. On Saturday evening she had some diarrhea (Sorry TMI) and I was wondering if it could be a vax side effect? She is usually quite the opposite in terms of digestive habits -- so it was very unusual. Anyone else's teens experienced similar?

If she's doing v-safe it should certainly be reported as a side-effect. The thing with side-effects is it's not really possible to know whether there is a causal link. DD had a weird itchy spot on her lower arm yesterday afternoon after receiving her vax a few hours before. It seemed more coincidental than causal, but I told her she could report it to v-safe. In fact, I'm hoping the CDC will come out with another app that my kids can log their gripes into year round

Even though I wish DD(9) could get vaccinated earlier, I'm glad it's coming. Pediatrician's offices giving the vaccines with well-checks or as vaccine clinics in their offices will go a long way to helping spread awareness. People trust their doctors more than the government telling them to vaccinate and the convenience helps.

DS2 had an extremely sore arm. Today (day 4) it still really hurts.
