    Default Interior design ideas?

We recently purchased an old farmhouse for a vacation spot.

It needs some work but we don't want to spend a ton of money. Is there some kind of design person who would be familiar with all the cool products out there that can help you spruce things up without paying a lot of money?

I know of several design coaches in our area, rather than an interior decorator. The coaches charge a flat hourly fee, use what you already have and provide drawings and links for ideas that you procure on your own. You do the shopping and "doing" and the coach doesn't get a cut from the goods and labor like a traditional interior decorator. I recently worked with one to pick paint colors and it was a good experience. Maybe ask around locally - my neighbors recommended one to me.

what kind of stuff do you need? Is it paint etc help or interior decorating. If the latter, Modsy is great, inexpensive, and you can set a budget

We used Spacejoy online design service to get ideas for our living room redo. We basically wanted to do new furniture and had some ideas but wanted help with layout, colors, etc. We gave them the dimensions, pics of the space and pieces we wanted to stay, as well as completed an online style quiz and picked pictures for inspiration. Then they did a 3d rendering of the room with specific ideas for pieces with links (we had picked stores we like in the quiz). We didn't buy all the specific pieces, but did purchase a couple and used the others for ideas to find similar pieces. I think their basic package is $99 and you can give tell them (or pick stores) what you are aiming for budgetwise.

This is an interesting concept. It is like having a friend with really good taste, lol, which is often what I'm seeking when I'm decorating a space. Might be worth looking into!

I love this idea. And it was a design coach. I will ask around. Unfortunately the house is in rural VT so I don't know if we'd find someone up there.

If you want interior design like services, I would use a 3 d rendering service like modsy. The issue there is it does not give color help
Or you could use something like homly (?sp) that is also a design service that connects you to beginning interior designers or students or coaches. Reasonable and you have an assigned online person who you can chat with and go back and forth with questions
