Default Need help finding swimsuits for teen girl

    UPDATE PAGE 2!

My DD16 was just admitted to a summer marine science program. She is so excited...except for having to find good swimsuits. She is very modest and usually goes for swimshorts, a swimsuit, and a rash guard. The problem we are having is that the suits with more coverage tend to have older styles and looks to them (like floral patterns). SHe prefers athletic looking styles but I'm having a hard time finding things that she likes. I assume she will be doing field work and will need things that she can move around in without feeling like she's too uncovered. Any ideas for good places to look?
    TIA!

Athleta? I usually wear their swim shorts, a bikini top, and a rash guard.

My teenage DD loves Jolyn. They have a bazillion styles, but they are not full coverage (but they have tons of non-bikinis.)

What about a plain speedo/other athletic suit and a pair is shorts made of quick dry fabric, then when she's bending/sitting etc she will be well covered. Pretty much all suits are not going to have full coverage (my DD has many Jolyn one pieces but they are not full coverage at all).

I am sure Nike or other sport brands makes something quick dry.

Lands End always has modest styles and some cute patterns that aren’t florals. I love their swim shorts and pair those with a rash guard. I wear a bra underneath, but in her case she can order a bikini top or tankini.

    So much to choose from

    I love these swim bottoms.

These are like athletic short material and also come in solids

Pair with a corresponding swim top and rash guard

    Or something like this pattern

    Another cute pattern (tie dye)

Athleta, Title Nine and REI. All have great options for active water use vs laying out in the sun.

Roxy makes cute, teen-friendly rash guard/UV tops. My girls like them for surfing, etc.

    Congrats to your daughter!

My DD hates the regular style bottoms. When she was younger she wore just a swim shirt and bike shorts. Now we buy a bikini and she wears the top of that under the swim shirt. I still buy plain bike shorts though. They do not last as long as something made for chlorine, I don't think. But they tend to be a lot cheaper than swim bottoms, so we buy a couple pairs. And they are easier to find, although it looks like Lands' End has a lot more choices than typical.

Sounds like a great summer experience.

Title 9 has a lot of great mix & match swim options, with a few types of swim shorts and rash guards: https://www.titlenine.com/womens-athletic-swimwear/

My dd is pretty modest too and she will frequently wear a tankini or bikini top, a long-sleeve rash guard top and Hawaiian-style boy’s board shorts. I find a lot of my kids’ swim suits at Target. They hold up well enough for the amount of chlorine they are exposed to all summer.

Title nine and REI have suits that seem "younger" than Lands End. (Warning - we bought DD a beautiful Prana suit at REI that did not hold up well and Prana did not honor waranty because suit was bought at REI.)

Aerie also had some suits both DD and I liked, but maybe less full coverage.
