Did your home inspector recommend a testing company or abatement company? They are often a good source of info. Your agent and/or RE lawyer could be, too. Does the seller have to do a disclousure form where you are?

If you're an outgoing person, you could knock on doors in the building, say you're looking to buy unit XYZ, and ask about others' experience doing the same thing. Neighbors may also know if their unit has/had asbestos. Homeowners' association, maybe?

    Default Popcorn ceiling

We had ours removed (at our old house) by a painting company way back in 2012 and the removal and the paint job was $3000. I didn’t even think to look at an asbestos company to remove it. It was fine and our house was built in 1950 so I had no idea how long it had actually been up there. Can you have your house tested for asbestos first? Can you contact the homeowners association board for your condo?

FWIW my parents removed the popcorn ceiling in mu house in the 1990s; their house was built in 1973.
