    We have this tent from REI. It's ridiculously spacious, tall, and easy to set up. (There are smaller 6- and 4-person versions, too.) If you need/want even more space, you can add the Mud Room. I'd get a footprint for underneath to protect the base of the tent.

    REI also sells a sleep system that may work for you. It comes with an insulated air mattress, a cover, a top quilt, and a pump. I do not have it, but it seems to get good reviews. This mattress also looks really comfy. I have the Exped mats and like them a lot.

    If you have an REI anywhere close to you, maybe spend a couple of hours there with the sales reps. They are usually very helpful. If not, they have a generous return policy. If you are ordering from them, become a member first. That way you get dividends back on every purchase, and they'll send you coupons. I think you get something like $20 off first purchase by becoming a member.

    I am thinking now
    of grief, and of getting past it;
    I feel my boots
    trying to leave the ground,
    I feel my heart
    pumping hard. I want
    to think again of dangerous and noble things.
    I want to be light and frolicsome.
    I want to be improbable beautiful and afraid of nothing,
    as though I had wings.

    There are windows on all four sides, but only the top half of the wall (to keep rain from splashing in). I think the ventilation is good, but I haven't been camping when it was super hot.

    I guess I only have backpacking tents. I use my 4 person one for car camping. Sure as heck not hauling that thing on my back!

    I love, love, love our simple Coleman twin air mattresses. We also have an aero queen size air mattress that is great. We have pumps for both of them. As long as they are charged before you go, they will fill up your air mattress no problem.
