Many thanks coming from me and dd for all the great advice here! We used the brathatfits measure for dd who is 13. I would never have guessed she was a size 28 DD. We used the bra that fits site and thought we did something wrong. Turns out she was. She went from a size A to DD in about a year. We went to Aerie which I had never heard of before you all mentioned it, and had great luck finding some bras for dd. Some of the 30’s worked for dd. The sales person was so helpful. Then we hit some sales at Nordstrom’s and got her a couple more bras. I needed some too so we actually tried them on together which was fun. She was a little self conscious at first but I was joking around and she relaxed started laughing. She actually admitted at the end that she had fun.
The brathatfit measure worked well for me too. I’m hoping that by getting proper fitted bras they will last longer.

Chiming in to also recommend Aerie. I don't trust their sales clerks to do accurate size measurements (they do the plus 4/5 method and had my tiny DD measured at a 32C, which was ridiculous!) but their bras tend to run smaller and they have a huge range of sizes for small and curvier figures. I'm a 28D/28DD depending on hormones (per the brathatfits sizing guie) but find the Aerie 30D to fit me well because the bands and cups run smaller. However, I currently ADORE their bralettes! Here are some of our faves:
The comfiest bra that is somewhat structures like a "real" bra. I wear it in XS. The cups are slightly small for me until I wear it several times but sizing up to a S makes the band slip.I own 3 or 4 of this one.

Another fave of mine. ALso in an XS. Gives some support and lift but not restricting like an underwire.

I don't own this one but tried it in store and liked it. I just try to buy ones with a back clasp so I'm not having to struggle into a snug band. https://www.ae.com/us/en/p/aerie/bra...enu=cat4840006
DD has these all in XS and loves them

one similar to this but different lace pattern

She also has several of their "lightly lined" bras in a few different style. Try them in store. Some of them run much smaller so a 30 might still fit your DD. IIRC the real Sunnie and Real Happy ran smaller? FYI sometimes the store doesn't stock the extreme end of the size ranges but they keep a tester in each style in the sizes they don't stock so you can try for size and then they'll order it for you with free shipping. We've had to do this a few times.
That eyelash lace bra you linked to is BEAUTIFUL. Btw, all the real sunnie bras are on sale right now. But they were already getting picked over yesterday when the sales people at the store tried to order for us. The sales people said they are expecting a big change over of merchandise because several lines were being discontinued and a new collection is coming for back-to-school. They said they expect that to happen on July 25th.

I have the Real Sunny bralettes for myself and I really like them. The rest of their bras the fit was kind of ho hum for me. Dd1 had a favorite bra from them when she first got her bras there at 12 and it isn’t like anything that is listed and sadly been discontinued and she is still so bummed that she couldn’t get it replaced when she outgrew it.
Dd1’s most worn bras from them right now are the 32D underwire non padded bras I had her try on at the last trip there a few months ago when most of what she was trying on mainly 34C sized bras.

That bralette IS beautiful on but also super comfy for everyday wear. The lace isn’t itchy in the colors I have. I happened across it in a clearance bin of discontinued colors a few months ago and fell in love! Wish I’d bought even the weird colors at the clearance price. lol. Thanks for the tip on the sale. I have to head towards the store today so will check it out.
Also I found another of DDs faves while folding laundry. This one is super cute for a young teen and comfy.

I will say that this is the most annoying thing about aerie in general. They discontinue styles ALL THE TIME and it drives me nuts. My favorite “real” underwire bras that I break out for certain outfits/occasions are from aerie about 5 years ago- when they first came out with the larger cup sizes for small bands and only offered them in a few styles. They were the original Sunnie lightly lined underwire style and I loved them. The fabric was soft and had good stretch, supportive and shaping without poking or restricting. Fuller coverage for use under thin t shirts. Just the perfect wire bra. They changed the style slightly the next season so the fabric wasn’t as nice and then did away with it all together. The new Sunnie bras aren’t a good fit for me. Same with a bralette I loved years ago. I know their target market is teens and 20-somethings who don’t have enough life experience to realize that having the consistency of a go-to style that fits perfectly every time is better than the excitement of getting to try new cute styles every year, but still! Very frustrating so I feel your daughter’s pain!
Even many years ago, many mainstream bra mfrs were notorious for discontinuing styles frequently and without warning. My mother always bought multiples when she found a style she liked — she said that as soon as sales clerks saw her coming, they’d call the mfr and say "stop making this one"!!

This thread was really helpful to me. DD needed more than the training bras she has been wearing, I used the Reddit calculator and found she is 30C to my surprise. I ordered some of the aerie bralettes mentioned above and atleast 2 of the styles turned out to be perfect.
