ISO a travel daypack
We started traveling recently and it’s amazing how much I had forgotten LOL The night before I searched for my usual Rick Steve’s travel backpack and it is nowhere to be found. Another backpack is missing and that one has my DSLR camera insert in it. How does one lose two backpacks? I know areas of my house are deeply cluttered but still… I’m fairly certain I meant to donate the second backpack but maybe forgot the camera insert was in there. Anyway, weird. I took our 21 year old diaper landsend backpack, which finally broke on this trip, so I am in need of a replacement!
here is my criteria:
fits under the airline seat- I think 24-30 liter capacity??
Suitable for sightseeing and normal hiking - I don’t use a hydration pouch
fits a standard water bottle comfortably without falling out
fits a DSLR bag, an extra lens, jacket, snacks, guidebooks, etc.. when I travel on a plane I usually carry my DSLR, large medicine bag, and misc.small items (charging cords, battery pack, maybe a cardigan or an iPad)
fits a MacBook (on the rare occasion I travel with it)
Comfortable straps and support for a short person (I’m only 5’ 2”)
Ideally an organizer pocket
I’m willing to splurge for quality as I keep them forever, until I lose them in my house lol
i am intrigued by the Cotopaxi (26 liter Batac, Inca, Cusco in particular) and the use of recycled fabric. I’m also considering the Rick Steve’s Appenzell daypack.
finally, the Osprey backpacks, in particular the Questa. I love their website lol
I spent some time researching but thought I would ask here before making a decision, jic anyone has feedback!
