Default Not a big deal but...

I just realized that I returned a book to the library with a bookmark handmade by my DC. It is mispelled and adorable and I'm sad to lose it. Not a big deal in the scheme of things, but darn it!

Did you call the library? I imagine that happens more often than one might think. They may have a place to save such items in case anyone comes to claim them.

I should totally check...Library is closed today (dropped books off in the slot!) I'll stop by tomorrow! I'm surprised by how sentimental losing this one piece of art is making me. The kids only create like 20 masterpieces a day. I think it is because this one has also been my companion in so many COVID reads so it feels like a double loss. A memory of love from my kids and comfort during hard times!

Darn. I hate those kind of things. Our library does have a book of lost bookmarks.

If you call the library and they don't have it, I would still go in and check in the book. Perhaps the person checking in the book didn't even notice the bookmark.

Definitely! I have found other people’s books marks and even a grocery list used as a book mark in library books

Definitely call! Ours has a collection of things found in books and I'm sure they would be happy to return that treasure.

    Call!

DD left a magnetic fold-over bookmark in one of the books she had checked out a couple of years ago and calling the library meant it wasn't lost forever.

Call the library and even ask if they will check the book for you. This happens ALL THE TIME!!!
