    Typically there is a notice and then I could download what is needed. I know that there is also usually a way to still access the information and the chances of needing it are pretty slim. Back when everything was paper I kept copies of everything for several years but I only truly needed them once… needed credit card records for an insurance claim but even if I didn’t have them I would have been able to get them from credit card company.

    We file everything by year, and then put a flash drive with each years' info into our storage with that years' tax info.
