I definitely tip more since COVID. My DH also thinks it is not necessary but I override his opinion. I heard about it for a week after I tipped 15% on a carry-out pizza order.
I sometimes read Talesfromthepizzaguy on reddit and that greatly influences my actions.
I try to order directly from restaurants whenever possible (without using grubhub, doordash, etc) to avoid all the charges the restaurants get hit with and we usually do carry-out rather than delivery because it kills me to have to pay a delivery charge and then tip - so I don't get delivery and just tip.

20% pretty much universally. I’ve got it and I know others need it.
