Default Covid vaccine and your cycle

I've had conversations with my friends about how our cycles changed after we got our Covid shots. I was grateful for the first shift because it moved it and it no longer coincided with my beach vacation. I think it's finally getting back on track- August and Sept. were the same time time. eta- Pfizer here. No change after the first (but I don't really remember the timing).

Yes, it definitely effected my hormones. It shifted my cycle and screwed up my sleep pattern. Three weeks of waking up at 1 am, then slowly tapered off and was mostly back to my regular sleep schedule after six weeks. Needless to say I delayed the second shot for a long time (and it also impacted my hormones again- I will not be rushing to get a booster!)

Default Covid vaccine and your cycle

I had my first dose on the second day of my period on 3/12 and had my second shot on the second day of my period on 4/1….I had a 21 day cycle that month. I usually had been having one of those about once every 4 months (the last one was 12/20). Since April I have had a 27, 23, 24, 26, 23, and 24 day cycle so nothing really out of the ordinary. In fact I should’ve had the 21 day cycle in August but I got to 23 days instead.

ETA: love tracking with my Fitbit app…sometimes it isn’t super accurate but I just make sure I change the dates if needed as to when it starts and when it stops. Also no one needs to know I am tracking my period when they look at my list of apps. on my phone.

ETA 2: DD1’s period was delayed a few weeks in May and she got the shot on May 15th. It eventually came back to normal the following month. She went about 6 weeks in between cycles IIRC.

Changed my cycle with the second shot by a week and then after that its back to a 29 day cycle. I have never had this happen except when I got sick with something like the flu (tested negative for flu) and landed up with pneumonia in Feb 2020.

No. I hardly ever get my cycle anymore. Except the day I go to the doctor for a Pap smear. Every time.

Yes, I went over my records and my period was delayed in May and again in July, where I had a 41-day cycle where I'm normally a 28-day. I've been fully vaxxed since mid-March.

Period's due this week, but it's also an alternate month, so who knows!

My coworker said the J&J shot made her sister’s cycle irregular. Coworker just got her 2nd Pfizer shot but hasn’t told me if her cycle was impacted. I read an article about this a few weeks ago. Apparently this is a side effect that wasn’t initially widely discussed in the medical community even though it’s been happening to lots of women but now there are going to be studies done...

I had no change in my cycles. I had some pretty severe side effects from the second dose that lasted a good week. I have no plans to get a booster at this point.
