Default Recommendations for light, warm, very comfortable women's long underwear?

I'm asking for myself and another mom in our BSA troop. It appears our troop is going to be doing quite a bit of winter camping & hiking this fall and winter. Can you recommend your super light weight but warm and comfy under layers? I know there are quite a few ski moms and hiking/backpacking moms here. Your recommendations are greatly appreciated! The more comfortable i am, the less grumpy I will be about doing this stuff (what won't we do for our kids??). It's just not my cup of tea. TIA!

I really like the newer wool blend ones more than my Patagonia ones. I have both smartwool and Kara Traa.

Smart wool and Kara Traa? Where do you buy them from?

I live in the 32 Degrees ones from Costco all winter. I wear the shirts almost every day and the pants when I'll be outside for an extended time.

The Costco ones (32 deg?). Also, you will need 2-3 sets for a weekend campout. You need to change into completely dry stuff every night before bed or you will get chilled. I typically will wear a set during the day, then change into a new set for sleeping and wear that set the next day. Change back to the original ones (that have been hanging in my tent) the next night.

I have a slightly thicker set that are C9 brand from Target as well.

You can buy Kari Traa stuff at Amazon and Sierra. https://www.sierra.com/kari-traa~b~33702/

I used to really love silk thermals from Lands' End and LL Bean as a base layer, but agree you'll need multiple sets to stay warm - tech fibers, wool, and silk are great, but any retained, wicked sweat will freeze overnight and you won't be happy.

I have a lightweight wool blend base layer top from CuddlDuds that I like, but it's itchy so I've replaced it with a synthetic one with thumb-holes in the cuffs. (Thumb-hole cuffs are frickin' amazing, BTW.)

Interesting that silk has lost out to other fibers/blends. That has been my family’s go-to for years (especially for the especially sensitive family members).
