Where to buy replacement window screens?

A crazy squirrel has basically shredded my front living room window screen trying to get to our window bird feeder. I need to replace that screen with something more durable and I have a few other screens that have holes. We've lived here 11 years and have never replaced a screen. Where does everyone buy replacement screens? Online? Home improvement stores? Or an actual screen repair business?

You can replace the mesh. An indep hardware store by us had it as a service. Unfortunately, the store closed. Maybe see about screen repair on yelp

So locally we have a screen guy that is AMAZING. He has a little business and that's all he does. He comes to your house, measures the window and whips something up! (We may or may not have had a kid that had a penchant for falling through screens!) This is a very local thing. I'd post on a local mom's FB group for recommendations.

Is there an Ace Hardware near you? That’s where we get this done. I just pop the screen out and leave it with them and they replace the mesh part. Takes a few days but it’s cheap.

We took ours to the local Ace Hardware and they replaced them. I think it was about $20 per screen but we didn’t have large windows.

I purchased “pet proof screening” mesh from a hardware store (Lowe’s or Home Depot) also a rolling tool and spline. The screening should be wider than the screen, so you can cut away the excess after you’ve done the replacement. It was super easy.

Yes to this. It's so much cheaper and pretty easy to do your own.

This is what we’ve done as well…multiple times. It’s VERY easy and cheap.
