In FL everyone has a screened porch and I replaced the screen SO much due to my dog. It’s not hard or expensive at all. Literally a $3 tool https://www.homedepot.com/p/Barton-K...E&gclsrc=aw.ds

    Some spline https://www.homedepot.com/p/Phifer-0...3396/100391170

    And the screen https://www.homedepot.com/p/Saint-Go...87-M/204264673

I do see the kit as well, but more $. YouTube it. So very easy!

All my windows are Milgard windows and I see nothing on their site about replacement screens.

Yes, there's a tiny Ace Hardware nearby, I'll see if they do it.

This may work with the screens that just need the mesh replaced, but I have at least 2 screens with broken frames so the entire thing needs replacement.

We had Milgard windows with bent frames and Ace did a great job. Honestly it is probably easier to just have ACE do all of your screens at once because then you don’t have to buy the screen and other supplies. I hate clutter and keeping random things you will only use every so often in the garage.

I called the little Ace Hardware down the street from me today and they said they replace the mesh and also can make new frames. I think I'm just going to take every single one of my screens to them! The valley sun literally destroys everything and I can tell some of my screens would rip with just the slightest touch from heat damage.

That’s awesome! Tell us how much they charge per screen! Glad you found a way to get them repaired!

Ours were about $20 per screen iirc. I think it depends on the size of your windows though. Ours were not big.

So I took 10 out of our 12 screens in today. Out of 10 only 4 are just getting the screen part replaced. The other 6 need new frames, pull tabs, and tension springs. And the 2 biggest screens are getting pet proof screening to protect against crazy squirrels. All in all it was $275 + tax. So yes, Annie is right, around $20 to just replace the screen. The cost does depend on sizing and I have 3 different sizes. It should take 3-5 days they said.

That sounds about right. I had our screens replaced and a few frame made about 8 years ago. God to know Ace does it
