    Default Unique grill related gifts?

Looking for some ideas for my dad. He has always been a cook and has had multiple “fancy” grills but now that he has retired my mom said they have no use for the oven and he’s grilling 100% of the meals nearly! He has a fancy smoker type grill. I know he has a griddle and has done pancakes on it and cookies and pizza as well as all the more obvious meats. Anyone got really unique ideas of grill related accessories or spices or anything for gifts?

I'd look into premium meat that he can grill. Locally, we have several cattle farms/pig farms, etc. where you can buy a box of super fresh local meat. There's also online options that have premium meat selections.

Depending on what he does, he may appreciate more accessories for one of his grills....i.e. - the griddle that fits on the grate, the rotisserie option, etc. If you know what brands of grills he has you can research that better.

If he's not too into doing all his own stuff for rubs and sauces, a nice selection of hard-to-find/gourmet rubs and sauces would also be great.

Thermoworks has a lot of cool products. I bought DH a Thermapen and a Smoke.

I also love my pig tail flippers. The small one I use every day inside the house and the large one is good for the grill.

John Henry's sells a lot of different rubs. My DH loves their pecan rub and buys the large size at our local BBQ shop.

I've done a lot of grill gifts. It depends on the type of grill and how they use it. But some various products:

    Grill Rescue Brush
    Meater thermometer
    Thermapens
    Ash Vacuum
    Custom grill cover
    Custom branding iron

Also, a lot of the grillers in my life are deeply into sous vide as well, all in the pursuit of the perfect meat. If he doesn't have one of those yet, it is something else to consider.

My mom's boyfriend got a big smoker last year. Things that he has needed since then:
    - Thermapen thermometer
    - Big wooden carving board with grooves to catch juices
    - good slicing knife

I’m also a big fan of Thermoworks, but since I have never grilled, I didn’t know what to suggest. But for a griller who is also bit of a techie, there are endless choices. No idea if this is overkill or useful but it looks like a neat toy:

Two caveats re: Thermoworks: buy directly from their website (apparently fakes are common on other sites) and I just received an email from them encouraging folks to buy early because they are having supply chain problems.

Not BBQ related, but their no-touch forehead thermometer is at their lowest price:

I finally broke down and got one at their last sale and it’s very easy to use and the results seem more probable than one I had from a drugstore.
ETA: I also ordered one for my family, when they mentioned that they refer to their current ear thermometer as a random number generator.

How about a Himalayan salt slab? It looks like a pizza stone and you heat it on the grill and then cook your meat on it and it seasons the meat as it cooks. DH had one and liked it

My dad has a wood grill scraper that he likes. You could probably find a personalized one on Etsy.
