We’re planning a week in Spain over spring break and I’d love some suggestions. We typically love spending an entire week in one city, but for this trip plan to split between Barcelona and Madrid. DH and I have been to Barcelona but it’s the first time for our kiddos. We land in Barcelona at 7pm on Saturday night and leave from Madrid on the following Saturday morning. I was originally thinking about 2 days in Barca, then taking the train to Madrid on Tuesday morning and spending 3 1/2 days there. Now, I wonder if we should spend an extra day in Barcelona. I’d love to take the kids to the Picasso Museum, Parc Guell and La Sagrada Familia. I’m looking for lodging in the Gothic Quarter. I’m still researching our top spots to hit for Madrid, but we’re a family that loves art museums, so the National Museum is on the list.

Any recommendations for us? Our kids are 16 & 17 and seasoned travelers with stamina and can do long days, as long as we eat well!
