Oh my gosh! Thanks for encouraging me to call. The surgeon was fantastic with my mom and she is VERY relieved! I don’t know if my advance warning helped but whatever she did it made a HUGE difference to my mom who is seeing the hospital experience entirely differently!

She’s also taking her off the opioid she’s on and she said my mom should feel differently!

She already called me today and seemed more like herself. I think not taking the meds is huge. But I also think being able to reframe her experience has helped her to be able to relax and calm down a lot!

We see a lot of this in the nursing home post surgery, finding the right meds makes all the difference. Some people respond differently to each type.
