Default Boosters possibly on the horizon for 16-17 year olds

I just read an article in the WSJ that said they are pushing to get boosters approved for 16-17 year olds by next week. Fingers crossed the booster doesn't trigger more cases of myocarditis in boys and 12-15 year olds quickly follow. I want DS boosted! I know Israel has started boosting that age group though I don't know how many kids. I can't find any indication that they're seeing myocarditis increase with this third shot. Since they were the ones who first noticed the issue, I'm hoping that's positive news and the 12-15 booster doesn't get put on hold.

I have 2 kids in the 12-15 age. I want them boosted so badly. I hope it happens soon.

Right there with ya! DH and I are boostered and DS2 just got his second shot. I feel like we're all 'ok'. DS is the one playing sports who would have the highest chance of getting it right now, and is the least protected.

This is exactly where we are too. Really hoping they do 12-15, especially given the timing with them hitting 6 months as winter starts!

Yes, I can't wait to have ds boosted. He is also the one most at-risk, least protected in our family. He will be 16 in February, so my guess is he will be eligible by then, but don't know if he will be eligible as a 15 year old before then.

If I had a boy or a child with a heart condition I would seriously be watching that statistic and probably waiting as long as humanly possible to get a booster.

I'm hopeful for the 12-15 group. DD1 is 14. Case counts have gotten high at her school these past 2 weeks. There are 22 actives cases this week alone (for reference rural school with a K-12 enrollment of about 1000). Our county vaccinate rate is only 61% receiving at least 1 dose. DD plays sports. There's an indoor mask mandate for schools and sports, but compliance is lax at best.
Mom to two amazing DDs ('07 & '09) and a fur baby.

Have had great improvement or total elimination of: migraines, bloating/distention, heartburn, cystic acne, canker sores, bleeding gums, eczema on elbows, dry skin and scalp, muscle cramps, PMS, hair loss, heart palpitations, fatigue. I'm amazed.

Where did you see this figure?

I believe it’s closer to 5 in one million.
