Interesting! I so prefer the deep bowls that you guys don't seem to like. I use corelle too but I like these:

See I love the deep bowls for salad. I think the low bowls would be a mess plus this is easier for me to carry and have less potential of spilling all over the place. If I eat salad at dinner then it is usually on a plate, but if I want more than a dinner amount I like that size bowl.

The linked bowl also works great for Trader Joe’s frozen oatmeal because that likes to bubble up and can’t easily be contained in a low bowl. (That is honestly what I bought the bowls for….to keep at my work desk for breakfast), but now I like them as much for salad.

It is definitely a personal preference thing. I hate deep bowls for salad. The dressing ends up pooled at the bottom and the heavier ingredients fall down there as well. I like a more "plate-like" bowl because I feel like it gives a more uniform salad experience.

I love these. The dinnerware we received for our wedding had bowls like this and I loved them for pasta and salad. But after 15 years I was tired of them. DH bought me a new set for Christmas and I love the pattern, but the bowls are the standard smaller, cereal type. The bowls you linked to in blue compliment the new set.

And for me the more open bowls mean I spill stuff all over, lol. Maybe I'm just sloppy.

In all honestly, I have been gravitating to ever larger salad bowls. The ones I linked above DO work for most of the salads that I consume but sometimes DH and I WILL get crazy and just use an actual serving bowl!

These 1 quart Corelle serving bowls are the best for big salads! No spill overs, easy to toss the salad. :-) Especially for a salad meal where people choose their own dressing and toppings! It’s light weight and fits in the dish washer. Amazon price seems high to me, I think I purchased mine at Fred Meyer (they have occasional Corelle sales)…and an outlet store.

We use this one for ramen, but it’s too small for our big salads.
