Prayers and positive thoughts appreciated for a beloved relative of mine who was jogging yesterday and hit by an Amazon driver who'd lost control of his van. She is in the ICU in a medically induced coma, alive, thank G-d, in critical condition, and we really need all the prayers we can get for her. She has three little kids.
In absolutely horrible timing, yesterday my daughter tested positive for covid (symptoms are very mild). I can't help with my relative's kids or be in the hospital parking lot. We're the kind of family where close relatives show up with food, a change of clothes, socks, toothbrush, money, and sit outside the ICU all day offering whatever comfort we can for the spouse and help talk through tough decisions. I know they are going to need help for a long time and we'll get our chance to be there for them. But right now it feels SO wrong to me not to be there for her partner while he's going through this.

- Updated in #36 (and here): Feb. 7 update ~ She made incredible progress this weekend, and started speaking in three word sentences. She did short video calls with her kids!! She is able to breath on her own and the doctors removed the trach and tube. We are in a strange spot where we are all relieved and happy that she can make short sentences, and she is so very sad at the huge change her life has taken. She is frustrated by the condition of her body and mind and her separation from her kids. (Per hospital rules only her partner can be with her and the kids can't visit.) Prayers and positive thoughts for her mental well-being and continued healing are appreciated. We're incredibly grateful she can talk!
