    Default Free Covid Tests

You can order more free covid tests from USPS: https://special.usps.com/testkits

Grateful to get more as we head into summer camps and travel.

Thank you! I still have 4 tests from the first round that we have not had the need to use yet, but just ordered another set. DH and I are supposed to fly to Jamaica in June so will need to take tests with us for flying back. Any idea how long they are good for before expiration? I saw a message that I could order one more set, since I've only ordered 2 so far. But don't want to stock up and then have them expire before use.

All the ones I have expire over the summer, the latest date is August, but that's my BinaxNOW ones not the free ones. Most have July dates I think.

On one of the world news shows they were saying that expired tests are still good; that they have earlier expiration dates as they didn’t have time to test for a longer period of time at first as they wanted to get them on the shelves, but they have since seen that they last longer. Since I don’t remember exactly where I heard this, please do your own research to confirm.

This will vary depending on the brand. They ship different brands to different areas. Our last ones (made by Roche) were good until the fall, but expire before some of the Quikvue ones I had previously purchased. It was probably 6 months out when we got them.

TY! I had missed there was a 3rd round on these. It's nice the number of tests has been bumped up to 8.

And check your benefits at work. Many companies are covering tests as part of your medical or prescription plan. My plan covers up to eight a month at no costs if I buy them at the pharmacy counter. I'm partial to Binax, so I picked up a couple of boxes last week even though I still have three of the government-provided tests. I noticed the expiration date on the Binax tests is 6/23, which is much further out than the previous ones I had.
