Ugh, this comes right after 4 local shootings. One was a domestic fight between neighbors resulting in a young female teacher dying and the assailant shooting himself. The teacher left behind a 3 year old daughter. There is so much craziness in the world right now and it keeps getting more local it seems.

Devastating. After Newtown we should've done everything in our power to keep this from ever happening again, and yet here we are.

Absolutely awful. My kids have always gone to school with locked entrances; even the public schools in our old city had them and I am pretty sure the ones in our current district have them. I thought that would be standard by now. Something as simple as that could’ve prevented senseless tragedies like this one.

I'm just so sad about it all. I feel 0% political about it. I just want it to end. All those poor kids. Those poor families.

It would also be great if a troubled 18 year old didn't have access to a gun, but sure locks are a good start.

Agree. Most schools around here are just enclosed by chain link fencing. Even with locked entrances a shooter could stand outside the school and just shoot through the chain link fencing during recess or lunch.
