Default Bracket for hanging things on stone

I have a fireplace mantel I’m trying to decorate. Does anyone know of any devices for hanging things on this kind of stone? I’m thinking something that squeezes in the crevices or clamps onto the stones.

Additionally, if anyone has easy ideas or Pinterest pics for decorating it, I’d love to hear them. Hired a decorator over a year ago and this is one of the things that remains undone. I’d like to just do it myself at this point and be done with her. But I hate decorating and I’m terrible at it.

What a beautiful fireplace! I would put a few beloved treasures on the mantle and leave the beautiful stone as it is.

Such clamps exist (you can Google them), but I don’t know how well they work.

No help with hanging things, but how about painting the brick white for a more refreshed look?

There are screws that go into brick. I have not done it myself but previous and current house have things screwed into the brick. Currently outside there is a thermometer hung on the outside brick as well as hose reels mounted non the brick with screws. Previous house had screws in the stone fireplace. I would just go to Home Depot/Lowes and you will probably find in the screws section or ask. You will also need a drill bit for the brick.
