    Default Best/easiest NYC airport?

DD and I are going for a weekend in October and staying nearish to Times Square. Which airport should I pick? Or does it really matter?

Prioritize non-stop flights. If all have non-stop, avoid Newark. Worst airport.

DD1 and I went to NYC last March and stayed not too far from Times Square. We flew into LaGuardia and had no problems. It was about a 20 minute taxi ride from the airport to our hotel. I was also told to avoid Newark if possible!

Agree and I fly out of EWR most frequently! It's so bass-ackwards. I'm not fond of JFK either, but I've only flown in/out a handful of times so my opinion is probably colored by stressing out because I don't know the airport as well as I do EWR.

If you have no other option but EWR, it's do-able, even by public transit.

If you're not renting a car (don't rent a car if you're staying in NYC in October ... 2nd weekend is NY ComiCon and it will be a zoo by Javits), you can pick up the AirTrain service from the airport which will get you into New York-Penn Station in about half an hour. It's not cheap, but it's convenient - once you're at NY-Penn, you can grab a cab on 7th Avenue (cab stand) or take the A-C-E subway (which is hard with luggage) one stop uptown to 42nd Street/Times Square.

There are lots of non-stop flight options in and out of all 3. We can easily make any work. Sounds like LaGuardia is the way to go.

Looks like we will be there during Comic Con. Good to know about!

I don't really know but it looks like they are in session all fall? So yes. But I could be looking at bad information.

I'm sitting at Newark right now. Delayed, as usual. And also my flight home from Lisbon was four hours delayed and it originated in Newark and left here late. Avoid! LGA is best for heading to midtown. It's a crappy airport in terms of facility, but runs more smoothly than Newark and it's easy to Uber into the city.

JFK or LGA would be my choice. Avoid Newark unless the price is much, much better as it will cost more and take more time to get in to the city.

My sister who rarely used public transportation has no problems going from JFK to NYC in 2018. My cousin did meet her at a stop where it branches off to Midtown Manhattan, but overall she had no issues.
