Hotels in Paris and Munich

Planning a trip for spring break with the hubby and the boys. Please recommend your faves in these two cities. Would love hotels that include breakfast. Thanks!

It's been a few years since our vacation, but in Paris, we stayed in a deluxe family room at Hotel Le Littre: https://hotellittreparis.com. The room was quite large, and the 4 of us had plenty of space to spread out. I can't speak to the hotel breakfast because my favorite thing to do in Paris is to eat allllllll the croissants, crepes, baguettes, pain au chocolat, you get the idea. So we never ate the hotel breakfast.

In Munich, we stayed at the Hotel Concorde: https://www.concorde-muenchen.de/en. The room was just fine - it had 2 bedrooms, so enough space - but not as large as hotel rooms in other cities we visited. It was very centrally located, though.

When we went a few years ago we stayed at the Hotel Regina Louvre. https://www.regina-hotel.com/en/ It's literally right next door to the Louvre and across the street from Tuilerie Garden. We had adjoining rooms which was great. The buffet breakfast was good every morning, so many options and allll the important carbs wencit mentioned! They gave us an Eiffel Tower view room so I went to bed and woke up every morning seeing it.

Also highly recommend this electric bike tour. Everyone loved it and it covered lesser known sites. https://www.parischarmssecrets.com/homepage-an The starting point was close to the hotel so we just walked there.

Again, this was pre-covid so I have no idea if any of this is good anymore. We were there when Notre Dame burned, actually on the bike tour so saw it happening. Last week we were in London and right when we arrived Boris Johnson announced he would step down. I think we break Europe when we go.

Our Paris hotel was off the beaten path in a neighborhood with maybe 2 hotels. We chose it because we wanted to stay in a less touristy spot. We had the family room (the hotel just has 12 rooms). That meant we had the whole floor. The rooms had exterior doors and a door connecting them internally. Ds2 had a queen bed, bathroom, mini fridge and just an overall cute but small room. Our room had a sitting area, table and chairs to eat at, mini fridge, bath and bed. Windows all along the wall to watch the canal. Breakfast was free and delicious but simple.

In hindsight, I probably would have chosen something where I could see the Eiffel Tower from my room but it was a really fun neighborhood with great restaurants and the canal was really fun to watch from our window! Proximity to the train was a bonus too since our time in Paris was short and it just made sense for our itinerary. Definitely not the hotel for everyone but it was a fun experience.

Snuggles thank you for the hotel recommendation. We are hoping to maybe ad a day in Paris to our 2024 trip and most likely would try to leave from Paris so something close to the train station for coming in from London and then easy to the airport as well would be welcome.

It worked out great. We took the Metro but we could also walk.
In London, our hotel was by Kings cross (well, a bit under a mile away). There was a strike on the Underground the day we were departing for Paris so we were super glad to be able to walk! We didn't try to get a taxi but suspected it would be challenging and expensive. Being able to rely on our feet was good...even if I cursed it a little bit at the time.

We stayed at the Munich City Hilton almost 2 weeks ago. Location was great- it sits on a train station so everywhere was accessible right outside the door. Good restaurants within a short walk. It's a Hilton, nice but not fancy and generic. We only ate breakfast in the executive lounge but it was more than adequate. There is a restaurant downstairs that served breakfast. My boys loved having their own room right down the hall from us but I know some families don't feel comfortable with that set up.

We haven't been in Paris since 2019 but we stayed in an AirB&B. Loved our location in St. Germain.
