I’m looking for a stop in Maryland to add to our road trip. We’ll be driving from New River Gorge NP in WV to NYC to wrap up our trip. The last stretch is 8 hours but I would like to break that up with an overnight in Maryland. Any ideas on where to go, what to see, where to stay? I’ll be solo so needs to be somewhere safe. I had thought Baltimore but I’ve read it’s not as safe as it used to be. Thoughts?

Perryville Great Wolf Lodge is now open along 95, north of Baltimore. That would definitely be fun!
