Default Stupid question- where do wet shower totes go after the shower?

This is probably a stupid question. Ds1 thinks I’m over thinking this. Dh can’t remember how he handled this in college. I shared a bath with one other roommate so it wasn’t an issue for me. But ds1 will be sharing a bathroom with all the guys on his floor. I’m guessing he takes his Saltwater canvas shower caddy with his shampoo & conditioner into the shower. It gets soaking wet. Where does he put it when he comes back to his room so it doesn’t drip everywhere and destroy surfaces? Suggestions?

I'm pretty sure I sat mine in the bottom of my closet in one dorm room. In another dorm room I had a sink, so I sat it under the sink.

    ds1 too
but he and I used a hard sided basket.
You can always buy a dish drying mat to put at the bottom of the closet too.

Or leave it just outside the shower.

I also used a hard sided one. I think maybe I sat my towel under it until it dried the more I think about it. A dish drying mat is brilliant!

If it’s a big communal shower room, they can’t do that. I guess they could but I wouldn’t. If he did, I wouldn’t count on it still being there the next day.

I thought that too, but I think the PP meant to leave it outside the shower while showering, so it is not soaking wet. Then take it back to the room.

Ah! That makes way more sense.

When I was in the dorms in Australia , there were a couple of shower stalls with their own door. So you showered privately. There was a bench to put your clothes/toiletries and then the shower section with the shower curtain so things didn’t get wet.

Are college dorm bathrooms more like the showers at the Y?
