Default Recommend your favorite zippered tote

Hi. My mom is in dire need of a new tote bag/purse. She likes a tote size that zippers shut with not too many compartments (she has Alzheimer's so simple is good). Not too heavy but strong enough to be fully loaded. Thanks!

If she can handle a backpack the Longchamp Le Pliage I linked in the favorites post is awesome! If you still think a tote is a better choice I would go with Vera Bradley or the small Longchamp Le Pliage (although it has zero inner pockets or storage)

My daughter has a baggalini for her dance gear and loves it. She says it’s such high quality and really takes a beating.

Based on what my CCRC neighbors use, either tote bags or crossbody purses are much more popular than backpacks. About the only people I see here using backpacks are younger and quite agile. Even those of us who are still in pretty good shape would find backpacks a challenge re: balance.

I love Kipling bags! They are lightweight, wear like iron and I toss them in the washer and air dry. They have several styles and sizes of totes. There are so many colors to choose from.

Yes. Has to be a tote. Backpacks are too hard for her to get on and off.

I was going to recommend the same. It has 1 pocket on the outside for your phone and 1 small pocket on the inside. It’s really roomy and can be carried cross-body or on the shoulder. I love mine!
