Default What to serve for a “study group”

You guys are always great with recommendations, so here goes the ask:

DD is having some HS kids here on a weekend day to study for a midterm. About 8 kids, coming at around 1PM.

I want to have food for them throughout the day because I know they will all be on different eating schedules given their sleep routines. Any thoughts about easy lunch/snack options that aren’t pizza, aren’t particularly messy, and aren’t too hands on for prep?

    Thanks!

I would ask your DD what her preference is, she knows her friends and what they like.

Mini sandwiches (sliders). Order of make. Or just get a variety of things and let them make at their leisure- they might enjoy a break. Chips and fruit.

I’d buy a bunch of fruit and some other snack items like pirates booty, skinny pop, pretzels, etc. Not sure how long they are planning on staying, but you can always order some pizzas or make pasta if they stay for dinner.

All of the above, especially if there are boys coming over.
This is a fantastic pasta dish if you need something easy to make. We are a family of 4, and we always have plenty of leftovers. I would think it would feed 8 with no problem.

Sub/sandwich tray? Fruit bowl with dip. Veggies with hummus and/or veggie dip. Cheese sticks and pepperoni or meat sticks.

Yes to this if you're against pizza.

    I've used this recipe a bunch: https://www.averiecooks.com/ham-cheese-sliders/

I would get basics…skinny pop, pirates booty, chips, fruit, maybe a basic charcuterie tray? A veggie tray if you think they’ll nibble off of that. Our grocery store makes great mini sandwiches, but sometimes you have to order ahead. Same with the deli down the street…I’ve ordered a sandwich tray from them for lunches.

I would just do snacks--fruit, chips, popcorn, and maybe cheese sticks. That should be plenty.

I would also confirm that aren’t any dietary issues ie allergies or vegetarian etc. I feel like that has been an issue with dd/ds’s friends.
