Default Online Menopause specialist - has anyone tried?

My friend sent me this website this morning:
    https://mymenopauserx.com

We were just talking about how I think I'm in perimenopause, and how my pcp and gyno both just say "deal with it." She ran across this website because her company had partnered with another company that helped fund this. Anyway, I've briefly looked through it. I have to say it looks promising. The medical providers both have the NCMP, which was mentioned in another thread. I don't have any NCMP providers near me, and thought this may be a good option for me. Has anyone seen this website or used it?

I have not tried this, and am interested if anyone has! Looks like they even take some insurance, although not mine. I have not been able to find a good provider, and happen to be trying one more locally this coming week.

Dr Jen Gunter just reviewed a site like this in her latest newsletter and she wasn't a fan.

    What this the article? https://vajenda.substack.com/p/did-i...about/comments

Thanks! I also saw in the comments she was going to review something called Alloy (and she wouldn't send her friends there), which when I googled it looks like something similar to the one I linked. I just got a notification that Dr Gunter's book is ready for pickup at the library, so I plan on reading that before I do anything else.

There was just an article in NYT about how ridiculous the lack of menopause care is. It makes me feel like I should find out where my doctor falls on this NOW even though I’m in my early 40s still. I’d definitely push back on the “just deal with it”.

Subscribe to her newsletter for sure; she's also got a video series on Instagram that she calls her "Menopause Minute" that I've found really informative.

Yes I just read that article too, it was fantastic. Here's the link: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/02/01/m...e-therapy.html It's behind the NYT paywall but I think they let people read a # of articles free?

It talks about the Women's Health Initiative clinical trial, which made headlines in the early 2000's because they found higher risk of cardiovascular events and breast cancer in the women on hormone therapy for menopause. However the article points out that the study has been misinterpreted - it's hard to summarize, so read the article if you can!

Definitely got me to thinking if I will want to push back on a "just deal with it" answer too when/if the time comes.

Here’s a link to the NYT article on yahoo. I couldn’t get to it on the NYT site because I used up all my free articles.

Thanks so much for posting this link. Just finished listening to an interview with the author on All of It with Alison Stewart. At the end, Susan mentioned she has resources on her social media pages.

Here they are on her Twitter page: https://twitter.com/susandominus/sta...7Ctwgr%5Etweet
