DC, who's a Junior, will have taken 3 APs this year -- APUSH, AP Calc a/b, and AP Lang.

Next year, they'll take AP Stats and AP Lit. Their total for all of HS will be 7 classes, I think. Realistically, if they had made doing so a priority, they could have taken 3-5 more, but that wasn't something they focused on.

These are really helpful responses. DS1 is math oriented and doesn't love writing at all so I am sure Language will be good for him, but it will probably be a bit of a challenge.

I sold mine on AP/DC English with "Taking this now may get you out of taking it in college".

DS1 celebrated his last day of English in May because he knew he was done and could skip it in college. Totally worth it to him.

DS1 will tell you that his college writing class was way easier than any English class he took in high school! (and he didn't take AP English).

Small rural school without a ton of AP options and DD1 will be a junior next year. She has AP world history this year and will take AP bio, AP language, AP American History next year. She'll have pre-calculus (accelerated) and Spanish IV (our school doesn't offer AP languages but Spanish III and Spanish IV count as 3 credits each at the local community college so I paid the high school enrollment fee for those). She can also enroll in college credit for an intro to computers class, marketing class, psychology/sociology class. So she will have "earned" quite a lot of college credits at the local CC without them being AP.

I'm amazed.

Yep! She knows this. She had an awful biology experience freshman year (she said she learned more as an 8th grader) so she needs a decent biology experience in high school and the current biology teacher is so much better than the prior one.

    This 100%

For nursing school I had to take biology, chemistry, anatomy & physiology, and microbiology in college as prereqs. Plus psychology, stats, and sociology.

I'm applying for a respiratory therapy program now and had to take physics as a prereq as well.
