Amazon and Target have the TI 84 plus on sale for 90. At Target, the Nspire CX 2 is 113. I always thought ds had the 84 but he has the CX.

Thank you all. Will wait to hear from teacher and then purchase. In the meantime looked up the ACT calculator policy and looks like some of them are excluded especially the TI inspire CAS version

Again, can't stress enough to look for a used one, they last forever and a lot of your neighbors/friends with older kids likely have one sitting around. For me, spending 90/100 is a big deal when a used one is totally fine.

This may be a super dumb question but don’t students need these in college?

Based on the number of people who replied to my post on next door, I guess not. I had literally 20 people respond.
DD does not need one, she is not taking math classes, except one Stats class in college. A lot of kids probably got them for high school and may not have gone to college/needed something different maybe?
I used a TI-83 in college and for years after when I was paying bills and calculated bills/taxes, etc. until it finally died. Again don’t know college students well enough to know why kids don’t use these in college, but like I said above Dd1 has also never needed one.
