    Default Need to vent

I can’t vent to DH he’s in the inner ring dealing with being laid off. I can’t vent to my outer rings (my friends) as they are all dealing with no work for their spouses due to the WGA strike. Have to read the room and can’t vent about 2 weeks when they’re going on 20+ weeks. I wanted to get several things done before I start back at work, and I haven’t finished anything as I’m all over the place mentally. I’ve always had extra side work and I can increase that, which takes pressure off DH, but adds pressure to me. I’m already tired and I’m about to start back to 6 days a week, 60 hours of work.

Sigh, I’m just tired and I haven’t even started back at work

No need to reply, I just needed to vent because there’s no one I can talk to right now that isn’t already dealing with similar issues for longer than I have

I’m sorry. That sounds very rough and stressful….both the intense workload plus not being able to vent to anyone. Many hugs

Thanks. It’s just craptacular right now. I have to remember I’m fortunate I do have the extra work and can increase it. Others we know don’t have that option. So can’t complain about being tired from extra work when so many don’t have that chance. It will all be ok, just missing usual support I’d have right now to deal with things

I'm sorry its so hard IRL. Not having people to talk to sucks. Vent away to us - we're always here for you.

Definitely a stressful time. Feel free to vent on here!

In the big picture, you were so forward-thinking to pursue your current career and to get yourself in a place where you can provide extra support for your family. But, it is a lot to carry on your shoulders.

I bet friends going though the strikes wouldn’t mind some venting. I feel like the whole community is trying to hold it together, but it’s just plain hard to have so many people out of work at once. It doesn’t help that the general public seems to have dismissed it. We’re fortunate that we’ve both been able to work through the time, but are very sympathetic to the upheaval that this whole business is going though. Good luck on his job hunt. I think everyone is ready for a return to normal, and hopefully that’ll mean jobs for all the people dealing with layoffs too.

Remember, just because it may be worse for others doesnt mean that it doesnt also suck for you. I get why you cant vent to them, but be please be gentle with yourself.
