Default recommend your curling iron and tutorials

DD needs to have something done with her hair for senior photos this weekend. My old conair 1" won't turn on. Went to Ulta to look, and there are so many choices now! Which wand/iron/specialty machine works for shoulder length thick, but thinned out hair for some lovely picture-worthy style?

Also, please share any how-to advice and links. TIA!

I like using a flat iron for waves. They seem to last much longer for me than a regular curling iron.
I did just buy a beach waver to help curl my daughter's hair faster for performances and I love it. It's fun to use!

Tenasparkl which beach waver did you choose? I see that they are having a founders day sale and may order one for DD.

We got the pink beachwaver B1 on amazon, and it was so fun to use. It did EXACTLY what we needed it to do, and maybe she'll use it for future fancy occasions. Love the spinning curl feature

I got the S1 with the one inch barrel. The one on their site that's on sale now is adorable (the pastel colors!). I'd get that!
