    Default Dorm rug size

Debating 6x9 or 5x7 rugs for DD?s dorm room which js a double that measures 16,5x11. I think I?m leaning towards 6x9. Other than getting the rug there, are there any other things to think about?

I bought DS1 a 4x6 washable rug and had it shipped directly to school. It's small enough to be washed and remember that everything will need to be moved out in 9 months, with less help (there's no student volunteers for move out). A smaller rug is usually fine to fit between the 2 beds.

I don?t think any of us can answer that. That?s a question for the Facebook parent page of the school or the school website. Our school had the recommended rug sizes by dorm since they were all very different. Yes- I do see your dimensions but configuration matters. The less lifting and arranging you have to do to fit stuff in, the easier things will be.
Do think about transportation. Can a 6? rug fit rolled long ways in your car? Or would a smaller fit better? We could have fit in our car for move in had it not been for the rug. We had to rent a minivan due to the length (well, I also overpacked for him too &#128521

We waited and got one cut to the right size at Lowe's after the move in. It's not necessary right off the bat.
If there is Lowe's nearby, and you can do that I'd do that. We also used a box cutter to trim it around the bed feet for a nice fit. It fit folded in my smaller/mid suv (not as big as a Tahoe).

I asked there and one response so far said either size would work.

Are there old pictures you could look back on for inspiration? Or a dorm specific page you could join? That would up being really helpful as there were more pics there on that sub page- and parents who could really answer specific questions.
