Default Lodging canceled while enroute to Hawaii! Help!

Anyone love shopping for lodging? We are in Los Angeles on vacation, and our next stop is the Big Island. We're staying at a Hilton Waikoloa Village property as our splurge for 2 nights, then moving to an AirBnB property we found. Today, I got a notice that our paid condo for next Tues-Fri was canceled. It said "by admin" so I messaged the host. He said he didn't know what happened. The Club Wyndham help number said that timeshare owners aren't supposed to sublet their units.

So anyway, we are looking for a space to sleep next week! Space for 5 to sleep, Aug 6-9. Our previous place was $809, so I'd like to keep it around that price, with it being a pleasant, decently updated safe-feeling unit with a pool, etc.

I want to make sure I'm reading correctly - the cancelled stay was an Airbnb stay? If so, Airbnb can and will help you find another stay. We've had to do that a few times (we use Airbnb a LOT - not dissatisfied, but it does happen). Tell them your price range and your must-haves (bedrooms, area, ratings, pool, etc.). You can do it through chat or phone.

Alternatively, maybe call Club Wyndham, where you'd hoped to stay, and see if you can book direct? That's probably the least disruptive approach.

I'm so annoyed for you. Ahimsa's solutions sound very practical, I think one of those will work! At least you've got a few days to figure something out. Update us when you can!!

Thanks for the reassurance that it does happen. I did call Club Wyndham, and they're full for those nights. Tried some other older similar resorts and they're booked up too.

Airbnb offered some places, but they were in peoples' guest houses with the pool fenced off, not enough sleeping spots, etc. I've reached back out to airbnb with more criteria.

It's making me wonder if we should go stay on the Hilo coast for a couple nights to do VNP more fully...but I don't want to be in the rainy area all the time!

Thank you - That 2nd link is the place we were trying to stay, but they have no availability.

We ended up just increasing the budget and finding a new home with high ratings in Naalehu, which will make the National Park touring easier/closer. Thank you for being with us through this. Now we're off to enjoy our day.

Glad you found somewhere. The place we stayed last month would have been perfect, but it?s booked. (3 bedroom3 bath condo, pool, couple min drive to private beach.)

We finally booked a privately owned airbnb condo across from Kahalu'u Beach Park, and it's wonderful. We've been in 5 different places on our 9 night trip, and we're so excited to just BE here for the next 30 hours before our flight home, lol.

An Airbnb supervisor fixed the problem after I hastily booked a place in Naalehu out of fear there was nowhere for us to sleep near the coast. I'll tell more about it later, but what a fiasco.

Trying to figure out how to use our day here. Doing not a lot sounds great. We hiked 7.5 from Volcano House down into the crater yesterday.
