    Default St. Louis /Kansas Hotels

My daughter and I are driving from Maryland to Colorado to move her in to college and are looking for hotel recommendations along the way- not too far off the highways and safe areas. We are thinking St Louis and somewhere in Kansas, but open to ideas along Route 70
    Thanks for your help!!

We love staying at Drury Inn's if you arrive between 4-7, complimentary drinks, snacks and their breakfasts are also excellent. There are quite a few off of the interstates.

We stayed here in St. Louis last September. Clear, safe, free breakfast.

We love Drury Inns too! We spent a long weekend in St. Louis a coupl years ago and stayed at the one downtown next to the Arch. It's a good location if you want to spend a little time seeing St. Louis on your way through.

If you're interested in Drury and stopping somewhere in the St. Louis area along HWY 70, checkout the Drury in St. Charles. It is right off the highway and in an area with lots of restaurants, movie theater and other stuff in a pedestrian area. If you have time to explore, you are also close to Historic Main Street, which is a gem in Missouri.

This is the one we've stayed at, it's pretty well situated. We've also stayed at one in Chesterton too for hockey.

We stayed in a very reasonable extended stay place in Chesterfield, MO.

You need to be careful everywhere if you have a car full of stuff, but I?d highly recommend staying in quiet suburban areas over busier urban areas to decrease risk of car break ins (I?ve seen too many doing travel hockey tournaments?like downtown Nashville had breakins every time?but we don?t leave our gear in the car). So in St. Louis, I?d reccommend driving through on 64 (all the interstates come together at downtown and 64 will hit 70 again in Wentzville MO). That takes you through great suburban areas to stay in. As others have said, Drury Inns are great with free food. There is a big one in Chesterfield right off of I-64. Safe, upscale area. Has a covered parking area. It?s near a mall that?s being redeveloped, but there is a lot out there, restaurants, groceries, Target, Barnes and Noble, etc. There are also several chain hotels (Hampton, Residence, AC Marriot, etc.) in the area (Chesterfield Valley)…right off the interstate. You could also stay along I-64 in St. Charles county out to Wentzville.
