Default DD needs to start a professional wardrobe

DD1 wants to start working on the core of a business wardrobe. Help me figure out the right places to steer her, please.

She wants a suit for interviews and presentations, to start- likely black, and she is firm on it being a pantsuit- she is about 5?1? and slender but muscular build.

I am encouraging her to look at maintenance as well, so machine washable, esp for the pants, is best. Dry cleaning is so $$$ when you are starting out.

Where would you look for a black pantsuit, available in petite sizes, hopefully machine washable on delicate/line dry, with multiple cuts of pants and/or other pieces that she can build on as her budget allows? So a line that will be around for awhile.

Ann Taylor seems like the best choice? Maybe Banana Republic? Where else is worth looking?

And shoes- heels are likely out. What shoes that are comfortable but suitable?

Thank you mamas! I live in gardening clothes, so have a hard time helping with this.

i think ann and banana are good options. Black is a good option. A nice bag (that can hold a laptop if that is something she will need/have) can also go a long way to looking sharp. Scarves can help mix looks up if she is a scarf person. I travel with one jacket, 2 pants and a mix of tops and scarves and it lasts me a week (same for when not traveling). Shoes maybe Rothy's (also machine washable).
Here is a thread about some other options.
