I'd feel bad to take the name I wanted and nix the one he likes best, but I'm not a huge fan of Nigel either. What about Simon or Rowan?

I've always loved Nigel. Do not like Milo.
Always liked Nigel & Christian.

If I'm honest (although it's so personal or else we'd have kids with the same name!), I don't love Nigel and they don't seem to flow well together.
I love Milo. Not a big fan of Nigel. But I think all 3 names "match." Very exciting about the twins!

Linus and Milo sound like such fun names and Nigel sounds very British and stodgy. What about another fun name like Jasper? Casper? Oliver? Simon? Some of those are British and fun.
I'm so excited on your twins adoption. Are asking for lots of help from your friends? Get the help lined up now!

There was just a thread on british boy names a couple of days ago. Lots of great suggestions. I like the names together. I have an irrational love of Nigel although I am not sure I would end up using it.
I do think that you need to give it a real try and start over though with the names. I am not sure it is quite fair to hold your DH accountable to a name promise. The name of a child just seems too important. I didn't end up with my favorite name for my 2 boys, but I love our compromises!

I like Milo and Nigel as a combo for twins and have good associations with both names.

Since one just does not simply walk into Mordor, I say we form a conga line and dance our way in.
Excuse me, are you in a play?
Can you try to choose two names that both of you like? I'd hate for there to be negative associations with your kids' names

Someone else said this and I agree. Poor little stodgy Nigel.
I did not know "being a Nigel" was an expression. I can see why it is though. This might be the deal killer.
All of your comments are great and VERY helpful. I love this board!
