Disney: this summer or next spring?
We are planning a return to WDW. This would be our 3 time going. Last trip was Xmas 2018.
Because DH is a teacher we have limited windows of opportunity to go...only during school breaks.
We are considering going either right when school lets out at the end of this June or waiting until April break next year.
Cost seems to be cheaper if we go in June.
Safety and Covid protocols are top of mind. We’ve been SUPER conservative with our own actions this entire pandemic. DH and I are fully vaccinated. Kids are not high risk. We are just now starting to venture out of our bubble...DD1 did school sports, DD2 is doing club soccer and a theater camp this week. We will visit with my parents and ILs for Easter Dinner for the first time indoors (they are all vaccinated).
I almost feel like Disney would be safer now with Covid protocols in place than a year from now when all that might be gone and they predicting crazy 2022 crowd levels.
I’m not worried about the heat in June/July.
I am intrigued by the lower crowd levels since we’ve only ever gone at Xmas time when the parks close to capacity. I don’t know what it’s like to do WDW without it being wall to wall people.
Oh and next April my kids’ spring break is not the same week as DHs spring break so we’d have to plan a weird vacation where the kids and I go down first, DH joins mid trip, then kids miss a few days of school.
Any reason we should not go this summer??
