Anyone have barn doors in their home? Do they block out noise well?

Yes, I was going to suggest pocket doors too. I think better at blocking sound than barn doors.

Because I’ve never lived anywhere with pocket doors, and HGTV doesn’t seem to be installing them often...does there need to be not only enough space on either side of the opening but also nothing in the walls (like electrical wiring or obviously big plumbing pipes)?
