I'm a bit stumped. We take family photos every year and I love capturing vacation memories by doing a photo shoot (which we use for holiday cards). Anyhow, Tokyo is a city of contrasts and our photographer has suggested a path that includes both the Meiji Shrine (with gorgeous traditional Japanese architecture and lots of greenery) and the very colorful and urban Harujuku neighborhood.
So photos could have backgrounds like these:

Given how busy the Harujuku neighborhood is, I wanted to make sure we don't fade into the background. Yet I also don't want to be so boldly colored that it detracts from the gorgeous peaceful tone of the Meiji Shrine area. Temps average in the high 70s when we're there, so we need to be in warm weather outfits.
DD1 (teen) loves marigold/mustard color so she's picked these 2 dresses and we have to figure out which one. Note that we already talked about her wearing the second dress pushed up on her shoulders so she can wear a regular bra. The long-sleeved dress has a subtle polka dot "print" in the chiffon (more like a texture). The second dress has white polka dots.

I wanted DD2 to have navy, white, and marigold, so we originally picked this option:
