Default DD's appendix ruptured! - UPDATE

    Update
She's doing better. Morphine, Tylenol with codeine and Toradol finally got her pain under control. We've got to get her weaned off the IV pain meds, off oxygen, and pooping before she can go home. I swear I'm talking more about poop now than when she was a newborn. You should have seen the when she peed!

    Thanks for the P&PT

    #############

DD's appendix ruptured yesterday. She was 100% normal at noon, complaining of being tired at 3:00, doubled over and screaming at 6:30, in the hospital ER at 7:30, in an ambulance heading to the children's hospital from a smaller suburban hospital at 10:30, and in the OR having her appendix removed at 5 am this morning.

She's had a rough day and still isn't completely stable. Luckily, it was a small "leak" instead of a complete rupture but enough "gunk" got in her abdominal cavity to requre several days of IV antibiotics. She's not been able to be weaned off oxygen yet either. She spiked a fever this afternoon.

Not exactly how we planned on spending DS's first birthday

Seriously, I feel like our family is supporting the medical industry in this town. Pertussis, RSV, ear tubes, tonsillectomy, DS's laryngomylacia, and now this in the past 9 months. We still have DSs surgery for DSs cutis aplasia coming up this summer. I'm so over this!
