Has anyone done it? Would you recommend it? I've been thinking about it because it seems it might be beneficial postpartum, but I'm on the fence.

I know of one mom who did it in 2012, but honestly I think she was doing it because it was a trend, and to get hits for her blog.
Here is quite an in depth post about it here from 2012:

I did it with my third, who is now 8 months. I definitely would say I noticed a difference. No crazy hormonal swings or meltdowns like after the first two. Definitely recommend it.
My neighbor actually does placenta encapsulation. I believe it runs around $150 bucks. https://www.facebook.com/PlacentapeaceLA?fref=ts
I have a friend who did it and said she felt like it was beneficial.
I have a few friends who have done it, after having PPD with earlier children, and they thought it helped.

I did it for after my second baby, because I figured it was good "insurance" against PPD. I was depressed after my first, but not sure it was true PPD or just the circumstances of her traumatic birth. My second birth experience was much better, and I had the placenta capsules, so I felt a lot better, but I wasn't overwhelmed by the pills. Just figured it couldn't hurt. The leftovers are in my freezer because I've heard they're good for menopause!
